In this one-time class we will learn about the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead and participate in fun activities that expand our knowledge of the Spanish language and Mexican culture.
Class experience
In this class, students will learn about the Day of the Dead and how it is celebrated and lots of fun facts! The class will consist of songs, games, and some instructional time to learn. The lesson will include basic Spanish vocabulary, clearing up any misconceptions about the holiday, and a delicious pan de muerto (bread of the dead) recipe that they can make at home with a parent or guardian. They will also receive some fun printable Day of the Dead coloring sheets they can do at home...
I am a Pennsylvania PK-12 Certified Spanish teacher (official teaching license) and 11 years as a teacher.
Homework Offered
Students will be sent a pan de muerto recipe (bread of the dead) and some additional coloring sheets for at home fun after the class. I will also include a copy of the presentation, songs, and all materials used in class.Assessments Offered

Dia de los Muertos honors the dead with festivals and lively celebrations, a typically Latin American custom that combines indigenous Aztec rituals with Catholicism, brought to the region by Spanish conquistadores. (Dia de los Muertos is celebrated on All Saints Day and All Souls Day, minor holidays in the Catholic calendar.
