Description

Class Experience

1.) Students will feel confident about their food choices.
2.) Students will enjoy and have fun finding ways to move to improve health.
3.) Students will view health as a priority
I am very interested in health and fitness as a long distance runner. Recently, I am in the process of receiving my certification for personal training and sports nutrition. In addition, with the help of a subject matter expert, I am able to discuss more information about foods' abilities to contribute the body's wellbeing.
Be prepared to share your ideas. Discussion questions will be posted ahead of time for the next day. On day 4, the students will present their projects in a powerpoint/ slideshow format.
Checklist: 1.) Comfortable clothes that cover mid, chest, and thighs. 2.) Comfortable sneakers (barefeet for yoga flow) 3.) Water Optional: yoga mat snack towel
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
In our last discussion we will review what we learned and students will present their slideshows.
6 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Diets are personal and different people use them for different reasons: religious, health, environmental, etc. The purpose of this class is to discuss the merit of various foods, but the platform is open for students to share at times. No put downs will be tolerated. In addition this class is not for outward appearences or "buns and guns"; it is to promote healthy lifestyle and confidence. Students are to dress appropriately in comfortable clothes. Adjustments may be needed for those with different levels or circumctances.
