Description
Class Experience
Students will read Cat Kid Comic Club as well as create their own comic book throughout this 6 week class.
I have been teaching children for over 20 years and have a degree in Dance and English. We will move and learn while having fun! My performing credits include Touring the World with Broadway’s Evita, Sesame Street Live, and performing in Disney World Theme Parks as well as regional theatres for children and adults alike. It is extra fun to take class from the real life Pinkalicious, Little Red Riding Hood and Dorothy! I look forward to meeting your student and learning through play.
Students will be asked to read (or be read to) a portion of each book before each class. These will not be extremely long assignments. Students do not need to master reading Cat Kid Comic Club to participate in this book club, it is perfectly acceptable for an adult to read the book assignments to the student.
You will need the Cat Kid Comic Club book by Dav Pilkey as we will discuss portions of it as well as use it as a basis for our own comic book creation. We will use paper and pencil to create our comic book each class.
We will read excerpts of the assigned reading together in class each week and work on creating our own comic books.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
