Mrs. Collins is a certified science teacher with her focus area-Earth Science. She learns to teach students about how the plates move on Earth, form island, and the basics of tectonics. She is a frequent visitor to Daufuskie Island with her family and has been researching the island's history for the past 2 years intensively. She now visits to create short virtual field trips, picture albums, and sound clips of the birds on the island for her students. 
The Gullah culture discussions will involve learning about the Civil War in South Carolina, and discovering the music/art/ and food recipes from that time area. 
This class was created by Mrs. Collins exclusively for her students.
