Science has a dark past, that can be terrifying. Join us as we discover some of the dark history of science as we study plagues, poisons, dissection history, and more. Week 1-2: Plagues Plagues upon the Earth is a monumental history of humans and their germs. Disease is entangled into our history, and the way the medical community handled it could be strange at times with plague masks and cutting off small pox wounds for immunity. -To have fun learning about the history of science in a unique way. -To learn about past plagues, how venom was used, and how many developed poisons.
Mrs. Collins has been teaching for 23 years she is certified and holds national/state science certification in science, ag edu, and gifted studies. She loves science but is also a history buff when it comes to period dress, medical discoveries, and family life in the Tudor time period.

This class will use the following third party tools: YouTube, Google Docs and Google Slides. *Parents are asked to help the student with the first practice assignments to confirm the students know how to find assignments and upload an image and a video. We will be discussing past history of science involving plagues, death, poison and venom in a tasteful way that will cause the student to learn about the history of science in a unique way. Please look over the class supplies. Outschool disclaimer: please use scissors cautiously, do not use play-doh if allergic. Review the class expectations, science template and other attached documents with your child before they begin.
