Hello, do you love mysteries? I do too. I am Ms Alla, a native Russian speaker offering your child a history class. This ongoing class examines the most unusual stories and mysteries that happened many years ago in former Soviet Union and Russia. I will present the most intriguing stories of centuries. Week 1 : Princess Anastasia and the Romanov's dynasty. Week 2 : The first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin Week 3: Moscow, Leningrad WW2 Week 4 : Siberia, GULAG and Tunguska event, meteorite or not? Week 5 : Black Sea mystery and Chernobyl Week 6: History of Russian Tsars and Dekabristy, why? Themes examined may include war, period politics, the mindset and political ideas of spies, and government and political structures. This class is a lecture-based course. The instructor will be lecturing alongside a Google Slide presentation. Slides may include maps, photographs, videos of relevant persons, events or locations, and statistical information. Students are encouraged to ask questions, give comments, or discuss important themes anytime during the lecture. After each presentation we have a discussion where the students can request a certain topic of interest connected to the Russian history or geography.
