Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their gross motor skills, through whole body movement, tap dancing technique, weight shift, and muscle engagement.
Our dance instructors either have between 12-30+ years of dance training, professional musical theatre experience, and/or a BFA in Performing Arts.
Practice the steps learned each week for continued improvement.
Learners will need to have comfortable dance wear such as leggings or joggers, a t-shirt, and tap shoes, their hair pulled back and out of their face, and a water bottle for each class.
Written assessment upon request.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need to have plenty of space to be standing and moving during this class. Please make sure students are wearing comfortable clothing and tap shoes. Students will need a water bottle nearby for staying hydrated. This is the tap shoe style that I recommend novice and intermediate tap dancers of both genders | Tap Shoes: bit.ly/3m8WgvK Warning: Tap shoes will damage your hard wood and linoleum floors. I suggest using a 3-foot square sheet of masonite, sanded plywood, or as a last resort a smooth concrete surface like one you would find in a garage as a tapping surface. There are tapping surfaces that you can purchase as well. I am including the link to an example of a tapping surface here. | Tap Surface Example: https://bit.ly/3fAh2TN
Each student will need to come to class with tap shoes. You can find them online and at your local dance wear location. These are the shoes I recommend for novice and intermediate tap dance students: https://bit.ly/3m8WgvK I am including the link to a tapping surface kit here to provide you with ideas for tapping surfaces. | Tap Surface Kit: https://bit.ly/3fAh2TN
