In this one time class, students will experience the fun of dance and creative movement. Dancers will be lead through warm up and stretches, ballet activities, creative movement games, and will learn short dances. Beginning ballet positions, steps, and terminology will be introduced and students will have the opportunity to express their individuality with a special solo moment during the lesson. Once class is finished, Miss Jenny does stick around for a few minutes to talk with the dancers. Dancers are invited (but not required) to share something with Miss Jenny. Some dancers have things they want to tell me, others share toys, stuffed animals, and even pets. This class is a shorter version of my 'Dance With Me' class for 3-5 year olds. The slightly shorter class length may be a better fit for some learners. This class can also serve as a great introduction before attending 'Dance With Me'. Students are welcome and encouraged to take this one time class multiple times. It is designed to simultaneously serve newcomers and regular attendees. Due to my inconsistent schedule as a homeschooling mom and life as a mom of a child who commutes to NYC to study ballet, I am not able to offer Dance With Me - Mini Session as an ongoing class at this time. No previous experience is necessary.

Parental Guidance
It is important to have an open space for your dancer to move during class. Ballet shoes are recommended, but not required. If the dancer is on a hardwood type floor, they should wear ballet shoes or some type of tennis shoe to prevent slipping.
Students are welcome to have a water bottle close by during class and parents are allowed to join them for the class to ensure safety and security for the young dancer.

They vary depending on that day’s activities but may include: *A wand *Feathers *Animal headbands like unicorns, bunnies, frogs, bats, deer and more. Students do not need these items. Sometimes they get excited when they see me using them if they have similar items at home and run off to get theirs. If you have these types of items, feel free to have them in your dancer’s space during class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I studied all styles of dance beginning at age five and attended dance conventions from some of the top teachers and choreographers in the industry. I taught all styles of dance to all ages for over fifteen years at dance studios, park and rec programs, and independently. My speciality quickly became preschoolers and I also developed a dance class experience for parents and toddlers to enjoy together in 2006 when I was seven months pregnant with my second child who is currently studying with the School of American Ballet in New York City.
I have attended the Dancer Teachers Summit in New York City, taking classes and seminars with some of the top children's dance teachers in the country. I am fortunate to have access to a vibrant arts community in New York City which constantly inspires my teaching.
