45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This is a one time class designed for children between the ages of 3 and 6 year old to move and dance to release some of their energy and then focus it back into to exercises that engage their mind and body. I will use dance styles inspired by Ballet, Jazz, Yoga, and the Brain Dance to teach children how to feel the music and participate in both structured and non-structured movements. Our themes introduce favorite colors, animals, and shape. The students will not learn specific dance moves, this class gives them the freedom to move in their own expressive way. I will be welcoming each student to join in and interact with both the teacher and the other students. I will use only instrumental music to help stimulate the brain and introduce how music can spark the imagination to move the body in different ways. This class integrates the mind and body for to develop coordination and balance using simple movement patterns. This class will be about dance, having fun, and expressing oneself. Students can wear their favorite outfit and this class is great for boys and girls.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to participate in a dance class by watching everyone dance together and then giving attention to individual students. This will teach students how to take turns and watch others move knowing that everyone will have their own moments in class as individuals. The learning goal is to help students who are shy to break out of their shell and those who are not, to control their energy. Getting out your sillies is important, so I will use intervals to increase and then decrease their energy. I have found that true focused work comes from a child who has had a chance to release bursts of energy from time to time. I will incorporate the interpretations that learners demonstrate to help guide the class.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parents please be advised that this is a physical class that needs room for your child to move in an open space. The student can wear socks, ballet shoes, or bare feet. Also, have a water bottle close by for when a student might need to drink water or take a break during class.
Parents cannot join the class, as Outschool Policy requires parents to stay off camera. Parental Guidance instead is required and expected. Thank you.

I have been teaching dance classes to all aged children for over 25 years. Even though this is new to offer dance to children in their home, the only thing I want you to make sure of is the space your child is dancing in is safe and gives them enough room to move around.
