This dance class is an introduction to the Cha Cha Cha (Latin American Ballroom Dance) Class Breakdown:- Welcome/Introduction Warm Up - Merengue Style Brief Explanation about the Cha Cha Cha and the Rhythm of the Dance Learn a Solo Dance Routine with basic Cha Cha Steps including Time Steps and New Yorkers. I have been teaching dance for over 25 years. I am a qualified professional dance teacher with the NCDTA International (Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association, UK) and the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association). I have taught all ages of Ballroom from young to adult. I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA. I competed in Ballroom all over the U.K. until I turned Professional to pursue a teaching career during which time I have trained many Ballroom competitors successfully winning events around the U.K. I also taught the Ballroom and Latin American Society at Durham University teaching hundreds of students every week for many years before moving to the USA. I am also a fan of 'Dancing With The Stars' and followed the UK version 'Strictly Come Dancing'; even appearing on the BBC show in some fun features!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental Guidance:- Please ensure children have enough space to move around and remove anything they may bump into or knock down (e.g. your expensive vase!) Class Attire:- Please wear appropriate free-moving clothes e.g. tee-shirt with leggings. Leotard/skirt. Footwear:- Ballroom shoes (if you already have some). Otherwise any dance shoes (ballet/jazz) or bare feet depending on the surface of your home floor. Avoid socks unless on carpet due to the risk of slipping. Fitness:- Your child should be in a fit and healthy state. Please check with your doctor if you have any concerns. Technical Requirements:- Please check that your Zoom App is updated as this can cause issues with the sound quality in class.
