Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 6
This is a shorter version of my technique class, meant for folks with busy schedules and limited time for taking private classes, kids with short attention spans, or any other time constraints you may have. Due to it's short duration, I strongly encourage two sessions per week, in order to get the most out of this class.

After assessing and taking into consideration your goals, age, and current skill level, I put together a carefully customized lesson that may include exercises, choreography combinations, barre work, stretching, and dance steps.

Common goals may be:
-Better turns: This includes working on posture, form, core strength, balance, and breaking down the steps for correct turn preparation.

-Bigger jumps: We may work on leg strength, jump preparation, and quick muscle movements to help you achieve clean and controlled jumps.

-Flexibility: We will focus on stretching specific muscle groups and learning how to perform dynamic stretches.

-Higher leg extensions (developpe, kicks, leg-holds): We will work on leg strength, core strength, and stamina.

-Stage presence: Maybe you have a solo or audition coming up, or maybe you just want to stand out at your dance recital. Together we’ll practice building confidence and grace in your movements that will impress anyone!

If your dance goals are not on this list don’t worry, these are examples! I am equipped to assist in any specific interest you have.

This class isn’t just about improving steps—it’s about helping you grow as a dancer. You’ll learn to push past challenges, commit to your goals, and gain the discipline and focus that every great dancer needs. Whether you want to prepare for an audition, enhance your performance quality, or simply build your skills, this class is the perfect opportunity to refine your technique in a way that works best for you.

Each class session will begin with a brief discussion about the student's dance goals/objectives and what we will work on, and a warm-up including fun cardio with static and dynamic stretching in order to prevent injury and prepare them for class. A ballet barre portion may be added depending on the student's needs. We will spend the majority of our time together practicing dance skills and beneficial exercises I have prepared.

Stretching and strengthening may cause some temporary muscle soreness so I implement an extensive warm-up and ask students to bring water to class.

An open space that you can freely and safely move around in is required to participate in this class, so prepare your space beforehand.

Age appropriate music and terminology is guaranteed.
I aim to make every session enjoyable and worthwhile for you, explaining everything in a comprehensible way, and ensuring you are comfortable and safe.

Parental Guidance
Stretching and strengthening may cause some temporary muscle soreness so I take all preventative measures by implementing an extensive warm-up and ask students to bring water to class. A cool-down and light stretch after class may also be needed. An open space that you can freely and safely move around in is required to participate in this class. Prepare your space before class.
Pre-Requisites
Students should have previous dance experience or be currently enrolled in a fundamental dance class (ballet, jazz.) This is a technique focused class, not intended to teach dance styles.
Supply List
• Wear tight-fitting athletic clothing (a leotard and tights is ideal but not required)
• Ballet slippers are strongly recommended (socks will suffice if you do not own ballet slippers.) There is no requirement to buy special footwear.
• An open space that you can freely and safely move around in is necessary for this class.
• A ballet barre portion may be included in your session, so a ballet barre (or chair) is needed to help you balance.
• A water bottle (dance is thirsty work!)
