What's included
Class Experience
Young dancers will gain the experience & skills of a beginner level classical & lyrical ballet class. Young dancers will enjoy movement, increase posture, and acquire knowledge of technique. Students will learn french terminology, increase core strength & flexibility! Dancing is inherently uplifting and rewarding! Dancers will have fun, while working on core strength, balance, and poise. I've been classically trained, and also enjoy incorporating modern and lyrical moves. I've taught Ballet for 20+ years & enjoy teaching the basics of ballet to the youngest learners - meeting them at the just-right level! I look forward to sharing my passion for dance with your child! This 4-week class includes: 4) "Ballet Class" Videos & 2) "Learn a Dance" Videos that your child can watch & learn from over and over again! Of the "Learn a Dance" videos, the first video = the dance itself. The second video is a breakdown on how to do each step. Week 1 - Basic Technique & Alignment Week 2 - Balance & Posture Week 3 - Grace & Fluidity Week 4 - Flexibility & Expression I place high value on positive student/teacher interaction. All classes will be filled with fun & enjoyment of creativity & expression! Interaction: Students can introduce themselves and get to know each other. They can share about themselves & comment on each other's videos. Students can practice and record themselves performing weekly combinations and share their routines in classroom. There is opportunity to talk about and review what students have learned! Students will also be given a scavenger hunt to do if they wish: to locate famous ballerinas online! No experience necessary, but loving dance is a plus! Review from the one-time version of this same class: My 5 year old says, "I really liked the class. It was fun. I liked jumping and doing my curtsy." I say it was amazing. I wasn't sure if it would be "real" ballet or more of a music and movement class. This was definitely ballet including proper terms and positions. Mrs. Gole had a good handle on teaching and keeping it appropriate to the ability of the girls in the class. I'd definitely recommend this to any students who are interested in a beginner ballet class. We will be signing up for more classes with Mrs. Gole. - Melissa O.

Your child should be in healthy physical condition to participate in the dance exercises in this class.
