Learn to dance with the elegance and confidence of a princess in this beginning ballet class in which we’ll focus on a different Princess each week, learn ballet moves and terminology, and a brief choreographed dance!
Class experience
This upbeat class will move quickly to keep active minds engaged, but don’t worry, we’ll make sure nobody gets left behind! Each week will center around a different Disney Princess as we discuss her story and dance to her music! Students are encouraged to dress like the princess of focus (or wear her signature color) so long as they can still move freely and comfortably. Every week will consist of: -Princess/Music of focus -learning 2-4 ballet moves or poses, including correct...
-Refinement of gross and fine motor skills -Language and vocabulary development -Social skills such as turn-taking, patience, listening, and following directions -Remembering multi-step processes (choreography)
Ms. Andy is a former Disney Princess and was the Lead Teacher and Program Director of a ballet themed academic preschool. She is also an experienced pre-k dance and tumbling teacher. She has an extreme love for movement and all things sparkly and cannot wait to share her enthusiasm with your little dancer.
Please provide an open, clear space for your dancer. However, the class curriculum is specifically designed to accommodate a small dance space. Some skills may benefit from the use of a small stuffed animal or soft toy. The teacher will inform students and their grown-ups at the beginning of class I’d they will need one that day, but don’t worry, it will not be mandatory.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
As with all fitness/movement classes, I ask that a parent or responsible adult remain present off-screen for general supervision and technical assistance. While this class will not require spotting or adult assistance with specific moves and stretches, some children may need additional safety supervision when exercising or being active indoors.
