Class Experience

Get ready for a great workout! Dance is an excellent way to improve body awareness, focus, flexibility, endurance, agility, and coordination. All of these factors can help athletes in a wide variety of activities including football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, hockey, baseball, and more. Professional football players discovered this secret years ago, and have been participating in dance cross training (primarily ballet) ever since. In this class, we will begin our warm up with dynamic and static stretching. Once we are warm and ready to move, we will start learning dance steps set to music, that will help with coordination, body awareness, and strength. We will conclude our class with a cool down to calm our minds and bodies. Dancers and athletes of all abilities are welcome. I believe in fostering an environment of community and mutual respect. My dance classes are a safe place to grow as a person and as an athlete/dancer.

This class will combine several dance styles. I have trained in many styles and have been teaching dance to children ages 3-13 since 2008.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Comfortable clothing and shoes, and an area free of tripping hazards are required. Dancers may drink water whenever they need arises. We will warm up and cool down, but additional stretching is encouraged as needed.

I have trained in many dance styles since I was very young and I have been teaching dance to children ages 3-13 since 2008. I have also trained as an athlete in basketball, ice hockey, snowboarding, and wakeboarding and have seen the benefits my dance expertise has had on my athletic performance.
