Learners will learn the basics of Dance Choreography. We will bring all our ideas together to form a short Dance Routine each class!
Class experience
Do you love to make up dances to your favorite songs? Maybe you and your friends have fun making up dance routines?! If this is you, join the club! In this class learners will be able to explore different elements of choreography. We will use one well known song for each class to inspire our dance moves. Learners can come up with their ideas and have the opportunity to contribute to the final routine (Safety first, no gymnastics please). This class will be kept at small numbers (8 max)...
Movement & Dance- Your child will learn the basics of dance choreography while practicing musicality and listening skills. Dance movements are excellent for improving mobility, balance and coordination! Dance helps with focus, discipline and following guided directions. They will practice listening and working with others as everyone contributes and expresses their ideas for that days dance.
I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Dance Performance with a minor in Health Education. In addition, I have been teaching and doing choreography for over 15 years. I was a background dancer in Disney's High School Musical 2. I have worked with all ages teaching ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance and have done the choreography for many musical productions and groups. Since I was young I have LOVED to choreograph and make up fun dance routines.
Homework Offered
Please have your learner listen to the song designated for that week before class. Learner can think of ideas and dance moves to share. *Song schedule listed above.Assessments Offered
Encouragement and positive feedback will be given during class!Grades Offered
Please provide a safe space for your child to learn. Do not have class on a slippery floor or where things can be bumped or broken. *Wear comfortable clothes! *You may want a water bottle nearby for a quick water break. *Safety first! Although learners will be encouraged to be creative and contribute dance steps, Gymnastics moves will not be allowed- Mainly: Tumbling, handstands, flips etc. *Please have your learner listen to the song before class. (Schedule listed above) *I LOVE suggestions! Message me if their is a song your learner would love to choreograph to. Maybe it will make it into class! *Class sizes will be kept SMALL so everyone has the opportunity to be heard and contribute if they would like. *Learners will be asked to stay MUTED unless they have raised their hand for a question/comment or the Teacher has called on them to contribute. This is to eliminate background noise and be sure everyone can hear the music.
