Class Experience

For beginners and continuing pianists! 
Piano Lessons will follow the "Piano Adventures - Primer Level" Lesson Book.
These sessions will allow the student to grasp all concepts at a refreshing pace. 
15 minutes a day is all it takes!

Sample Structure of a lesson:
1. Finger and Hand warm-ups + posture check
2. Introduction of new short song
3. Review of past short song
4. Review of new song with teacher accompaniment

On average, a student may cover between 1-3 songs in the lesson book during each session. 

Note: To complete "Piano Adventures - Primer Level Lesson Book" takes approximately 4-8 months depending on the student's pace and frequency of sessions. Re-enrollment will be required to complete the book as well as to continue with the next lesson book.

My goals for each student:
-to independently read and decipher musical notation
-to develop a musical ear and awareness of rhythm and melody 
-to build a habit of daily practice
-to build an appreciation for the piano and joy in music-making.

An acoustic piano or functional keyboard (not a toy piano) . 

A place to position the device (ipad, laptop, etc) so that the student's hands and piano keys can be seen. 

Proper seating for the child and a step to place under the feet ( the step is optional but will make your child more comfortable).

Greetings Parents and Future Students!
What I like to offer is the experience of music making in a joyful and natural way.
My philosophy and approach comes from the belief that every child, teen, and young adult is capable of acquiring musical skill and knowledge. 

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas
where I studied classical voice and elementary music education. 
I also hold Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
As a soprano, I have studied and performed Opera and Classical Voice within the University and in Italy, Germany and the UK. 

While opera is a passion, I love to teach piano to young learners. 
2025 will be my 10th year of piano instruction!

I sang at Carnegie Hall - summer 2023 
I am a certified Montessori Assistant.
I teach in-person piano and music classes in Queens, NY
