Class Experience

Fine motor skills are necessary for writing.  While many children are not ready to write until they are five or six, practicing copying simple pictures is a wonderful and fun way to develop early fine motor skills!  Most kids love to draw and do it naturally!  They are also fascinated with dinosaurs.  I've been doing lots of dinosaur drawing classes for older kids, but I wanted to find a way for very young learners to create their own funny dinosaurs!  We will do it by using the letter "D". ...

Learners will draw a small letter "d" and make a dinosaur out of it, and then both a large and small letter "Dd" to do the same.  Creativity in coloring is encouraged!

Paper, crayons, markers, pencils or whatever you like to use to draw!  I usually like to draw in pencil first and then trace it in crayon and color it in, but many kids seem to prefer markers and that's fine too

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
