Assessment
Learners will be assessed and receive feedback from me during the adventure to help them keep in mind what they are learning.

Class Experience

This class will be focused around an adventure. It will include most of the central elements that make a D and D adventure fun- character creation, magic, action, mystery, unpredictable bad guys, fun items, and objects and loot to discover and interactive fun. Player will begin the adventure at Level 3. You are playing as adventurers, trying to make a name for yourself as you help others survive things they cannot handle.

Create your character with roll 4 method. Roll 4 d6, drop the lowest number, add the rest together for your scores. You can reroll for any stat where the end result is less than 10.

NOTE: In this class we will be essentially collaboratively writing our own adventure as we go. For that reason, there are no specific topics listed. The direction of the adventure can be changed from class to class by the decisions made by the learners. Since this is a collaborative effort, a learner who joins the class after the beginning date will be able to easily integrate and lend their own personality, insights, ideas, and decisions to shape the adventure from that point forward.

The adventure classes will be 90 minutes long and will take place in a 5E-based custom world with additional fun homebrew elements, such as airship and portal travel thrown in. The Fifth Edition rules will form the basis of character creation, and game play, but I will use a more streamlined approach to maximize the fun and time in play for the adventurers in my games.

Adventurers will begin with 1st level character, but can expect to advance pretty rapidly based on the characteristics of the adventure, and milestones for advancement.

Most character classes are accepted, particularly if pre-approved. About half of our initial session will be character assessment, orientation on the world they will play in, and having the players get to know each other.
Learning Goals
While they are immersed in the adventure the players will be learning collaboration, team building, critical thinking, role-playing, cooperative learning, and problem solving. Also, how to deal with frustration, and how to adapt to changing conditions.
