CVC (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant) Words Intro
CVC words are words like cat, bat, wig, bug, etc. Students in early elementary who know letter sounds may still have trouble blending the sounds together to read the words. This course is an introduction to that skill.

Beginner Level
In this course, students will be introduced (or reintroduced) to the idea of blending sounds together to make words. We will do this phonologically(with no letters visible) first and then using phonics to read CVC words. CVC words are words created using a consonant, a vowel, and then a consonant. A vowel is A, E, I, O, or U. Examples of CVC words include bug, cat, pig, dog, leg, etc. Some students can say the sounds but may have trouble blending the sounds together to read words. General...

- Students will begin to use strategies to blend the sounds together to create words
- With teacher support students will blend sounds to read CVC words
