Students in this class will play games to begin the class to review the short vowel sounds. We will talk about objects that can be spelled as CVC words. Students will work on completing words with beginning, ending, and vowel sounds. We will play games together to make learning fun. Students will have an opportunity to answer questions as a group and as individuals. The class will include some teacher lecturing, but mostly we will learn with student interaction. We will practice words orally; as well as, writing down what the students hear. A knowledge of short vowel and consonants will benefit the students in this class.

Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
