Class Experience
1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a squirrel (full body), using pencil. 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast, using colored pencils. 3. Students will learn techniques to create personality in their illustration, using colored pencils. 4. Students will learn techniques to draw clothes/accessories on their squirrel, using colored pencils.
Because of how detailed this drawing is, students may need to finish their work outside the designated class time.
REQUIRED: -Paper -Everyday pencil -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Colored Pencils: tan/peach, brown (light and dark if possible), pink, green, blue, black, white OPTIONAL: -Baby oil, Q-tips and/or cotton balls (to blend colored pencils) -White gel pen
Students will be assessed throughout class and at the end of class through questions and/or sharing of drawings.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
