Description
Class Experience
Students will work on and gain social skills by interacting with peers. They will also have a nice wind down activity in the form of art journaling collages.
I began art journaling and creating collages to act as a wind down activity from a crazy day. I have found that doing something creative has helped with anxiety and dark thoughts that may creep into our daily life. I have now filled many pages with pieces that I am very proud of. These pages and small sections of the day have left me feeling accomplished and calm at the end of the day. I hope to bring this same comfort and creativity to students.
Prior to class, students will need to find their materials and images they would like to use in their collage. The class video will show more of what can be done.
Students will need either a journal for their collages or paper to assemble it on. Glue (sticks are easiest but base this on preference) Scissors Items for the theme to assemble their collage (These items will need to be gathered beforehand to ensure the class runs smoothly and within the time frame.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
