Class Experience
Weekly tutoring sessions for children in fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. Parents choose topics according to their child's unique needs in mathematics. I will work with families to discuss specific math needs for your learner and design instruction, remediation, practice, homework, games...whatever helps your learner the best! If you do not see a time that words for you, please message me and we can arrange for a time that meets your needs. Tutoring sessions are 50 minutes in length each week. In this ongoing class, I will work 1 on 1 with your learner to address specific needs in mathematics. Class meets once a week for 50 minutes. In that time, I will tailor lessons to address your learner's specific math needs in whichever learning format works best for your learner. I can provide time for homework support, test/concept review, games, collaborative note taking, or whatever else you'd like to see happen in our sessions. The listed times of this class are just suggestions, but I can discuss with you what days/times work around your learner's schedule. Please message me so we can discuss a day and time that works best for you! To begin, I like to ask learners and families the following questions and will tailor each session to meet your learner's specific needs. -Would you like homework help or concept review for the learner's current math course? -Which mathematics areas would you like to me focus on with the learner? -How does your learner prefer to learn? (notes, working together, games, projects, etc.) -Please feel free to provide me with any details about your learner that might help me create lessons.

Hello! My name is Bethany Snyder and have been teaching for 10 years. I have earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mathematics education and technology from Kutztown University and Wilkes University. I have taught various subjects in grade levels 4-7 in public school, but my absolute passion is teaching MATH!
My number one priority with every learner is to help inspire math confidence. Learners will feel safe and comfortable with my teaching approach.
To me, mathematics is all about using problem solving and critical thinking skills to figure out the puzzles. Each math problem is a riddle that begs to be solved, and I love to teach students fun ways to succeed in math!
Empowering students with perseverance, confidence, and specific skills to take on any mathematical challenge is what it is all about. It is extra important to me to help learners build self-confidence when it comes to math, so I approach every lesson I teach with that main goal in mind.
