What's included

1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours per week
Homework
1 hour per week. After each class, I would love for the students to practice what they have learned. Writing the letters in the sand, air, shaving cream, with playdough, drawing pictures with the letters throughout it, or using your imagination to practice each stroke. Taking a photo of how they practiced and sharing it to the class the next time is encouraged. I want them to have fun, and explore the world of cursive writing.
Assessment
Each class I will do an informal assessment. I will see what areas the student needs improvement on and let the parents know what to work on at home.

Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner Level
Cursive writing is becoming a lost art. Learning to write in cursive is shown to improve brain development in the areas of thinking, language and working memory. Cursive handwriting stimulates both your right and left hemispheres, which is something printing and typing does not do.
In this class we will be focusing on proper writing positions. How we should hold our pencil, and which way to turn your paper.
All students are welcomed! If you have no experience or you just want to strengthen your writing skill, come on in!
For the first 10 minutes of class, we will work on different types of strokes (undercurve, downcurve, overcurve, slant).
From there we will practice multiple letters that have the similar stroke patterns.
At the end of the class we will play a quick game to assess our skills.
I like to keep this class fun and engaging. A place where the student feel free to ask questions, and enjoy interacting with each other. I want them to leave at the end excited that they just accomplished learning a new skill.
Learning Goals
Student will learn to correctly write all 26 letters of the Alphabet in cursive.

I have been an educator for over 10 years, and a homeschool mom. I taught many students how to write in cursive and seen how much it has helped them with their memory and thinking skills. I have used these methods with my daughter when she was in second grade, and her writing and reading skills have expanded.
