Class Experience

This 13-week curriculum covers a progressive and detailed approach to learning cursive handwriting, helping students build their skills from individual letter formation to full sentence writing in cursive. Each lesson encourages repetition, practice, and refinement. Students will proudly be able to read and write in cursive. Students will be able to sign their own names to legal papers in the future, read important historical documents. It also allows a student to write more quickly for future note taking in college, as the pen leaves the paper less often. :-)

Learning Goals

Students will learn to form both uppercase and lowercase cursive letters correctly, with attention to the unique shapes, loops, and connections that differentiate cursive from print.
Correctly form each letter in cursive, maintaining proper slant, size, and proportions.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a current homeschooling mom of 4 ages 4-17 years of age. I have taught 3 of my own children how to write in cursive with this same method successfully. I think learning cursive is just as important and relevant today as it was 100 years ago. Perhaps computers and technology have evolved (yay), but former important and historical documents are handwritten in cursive. Students being able to read something such as the Constitution of the United States is incredible. It also comes in very handy when children need to sign their names to any documents. :-)
