Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner Level
This is a beginning cursive class, so no prior knowledge is needed. We will begin class by introducing ourselves. I will introduce students to the proper way of writing in cursive. We will learn about slanting of letters and paper position when writing in cursive. Each day I will model how to make each lowercase letter correctly and provide visual and verbal prompts to the learners as they make the letters. We will learn a few letters during each class, one at a time, and independently write them on paper. I will watch their progress and provide feedback when needed. Here is a breakdown of each day.

Monday = a-f       Tuesday = g-l           Wednesday = m-r            Thursday = s-z

I have taught cursive writing in the third grade for about 22 years. Many children do not continue writing in cursive once they leave third grade and then forget the process. Therefore, when they become adults and need to sign something, they don't know how. There are multiple reasons to learn cursive writing in our world today.
