Gamers will need: -a completed character sheet (digital material provided) -pencil -paper -polyhedral dice. Digital dice is a totally free option. Students will also have access to DM Elisabeth's unlocked DnD Beyond campaign, sourcebooks, and digital character-building program.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Games of Dungeons & Dragons include regular themes of fantasy battle. This is not described in disturbing detail and is always monitored by an adult.

This particular campaign IS of the horror genre. There will be scary situations and monsters that might be disturbing to children that don't like that sort of thing. There is gothic horror content such as undead, children in danger, and pretty consistent evils around every corner. (Until they get rid of the big bad overlord that is causing all the dark drama.)
This is a campaign series created by Wizards of the Coast. We'll use The Player's Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and other Wizards of the Coast material through unlocked access to DnD Beyond.
