Class Experience

I love working with young children and helping them stay curious and excited about the world around them. I am a kindergarten teacher, an online ESL teacher, and a parent of two ever curious children of my own one of whom love everything unicorns and enjoys creating.
There is no homework, however some students may want to continue working on their projects after class has finished.
Specific supplies for each day are the following: Day 1: ~empty, clean can (like from canned vegetables or soups), ~paper (colored paper optional), ~markers/crayons/colored pencils ~tape/glue Optional: glitter/glitter glue/ or glitter paper, colored yarn or ribbons Day 2: ~Rocks (Rocks can be from outside or bought in a store. If buying rocks, river rocks work best because they are nice and smooth to paint and write on). ~Paints (Acrylic works best) ~Paint brushes, water, paper towels ~Paint markers or permanent markers ~Sealant* (Modge Podge or paint sealing sprays will work) *Only needed if the rock will be placed outside. ~A work space for painting and drying rocks Day 3: ~Empty plastic bottle with a cap (you may want to glue the cap on after completing the project) ~Vegetable oil ~Water, food coloring ~Different kinds of glitter Day 4: Food items: 1 box of instant vanilla pudding, Milk, Food Coloring, Sprinkles, Whipped Cream/Cool Whip. Optional: berries to add between layers. (Please have these ready to use-washed and cut up if needed) Non-Food Items: 2 mixing bowls, measuring cup, whisk, mixing spoon, clear cups, bowls, or glasses to make the parfait in
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Children may need a little parent support or supervision when using permanent markers, paints, sealing spray or modge podge to protect the painted designs, and cleaning up/storing paints and food items properly. Students should be working in a well-ventilated area when painting. Younger children may also need some supervision while making the pudding parfait.
