In this 25 minute class, students will listen to a story about how to stay well. We will discuss ways to defend ourselves/family members against the spread of germs (proper hand washing, wearing masks properly especially as some students get ready for school, using tissues and coughing into your elbow instead of hands, safely sharing food/drinks, getting rest and exercise.) We will sing a hand washing song and pantomime how to wash our hands. Learners will color and cut out fake germs...
I am a kindergarten teacher and have years of experience teaching young children.
Students will need a printout if the germs page to color which will be found on the classroom page after enrolling. (Students are also welcome to draw and color their own instead of printing if they would like). Students will need crayons/markers to color with, safety scissors and tape to hang up their germs with adult supervision after class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Young learners may need some support cutting out germs and taping them on places around their homes after class.
