Class Experience

Ever since I was a kid, I have always been excited to explore and learn about a new country, culture, people. What made it more fun was how little I knew and so much I could learn in just a short time.
In my 45min session I plan to take the riders on a culture trip through the lens of an average 5 year old -
- what are the interesting world famous traditional Indian food I want to eat
- easy recipe for mini chef me [supply list addd below]
- what do Indian men and women wear [get an everyday cloth and we will style in an Indian way - added in supply list below]
- how are these cultures different from the rest of the world

I would engage with my class on a LIVE video conference. I like to divide the time to introductions, identifying and discussing class objectives, musical videos, facts, pictures. Colors at disposal will further brighten up the process.
Lastly, I would want to spend 5-7min to assess the learnings from the class with a rapid fire round for the kids.

Learning Goals

Surely kids will learn much about the history and culture of 1.2Bn people of India - food that is enjoyed and celebrated around the world.
Also, it would be interesting to build a room to appreciate the differences that would broaden the horizons of the kids beyond the current space and time. This nurtures creativity, imagination and out-of-the-box thinking which we as adults often strive for every day.

Born and brought up in India, I hold a deep understanding of the culture and lifestyle in the country. Though I had been a city girl in India, but my travels through the villages, love for food, and the many festive adventures have further rooted my knowledge and behaviour of the people.
My approach to teaching ensures the 45min class is no books. A fun engaging way to ensure maximum retention and application outside the classroom.
