In this one-time baking and culture course, students will learn how to make the traditional "pan de meurto" or "bread of the dead" which is made in Mexico for Day of the Dead / Dia de Los Muertos. While baking, students will also get to learn a bit about Mexican culture and traditions. We will talk about Day of the Dead and the celebrations that occur each year on November 1 and 2. Students will also learn a few basic Spanish vocabulary words related to baking, food, and Dia de Los Muertos....
Students will improve their baking and measuring skills. They will also learn more about Mexican culture, traditions, and the Spanish language.
Spanish - I hold a degree in Education and Spanish. I fluently speak Spanish and use it in 90% of my daily life. I learned Spanish in Bolivia and am married to a native speaker. Cooking/Baking - Cooking and baking are not just hobbies, but passions of mine. I have been cooking and baking since I was a child. I also worked for several summers in a large, industrial kitchen at a children's summer camp, feeding over 300 campers daily.

1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parent or adult supervision may be needed for younger or less experienced students as we will be using a hot oven.
