Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Thank you for viewing my profile!
I am so excited to teach at Outschool!
I have been teaching as a homeschool mom and for private companies for several years. I have experience teaching in-person and on-online classes. In the private sector, I taught English grammar and writing at the middle school level. I have also led students in elementary aged science, math, history, latin, fine arts, and ESL both for private companies and as a homeschool mom for 12 years.
I have a Bachelor Fine Arts in Acting and have participated in and coached competitive speech. I have also taught and directed theatre for children and adolescents. “Charlotte’s Web”, “The Suessified Christmas Carol” and the musical version of “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” are among the most recent plays I have directed.
I also hold a Masters in Social Work and worked as a clinical therapist and social worker for children, adolescents, and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked extensively with persons of diverse cultures and also persons whose life experiences have been marginalized. I have worked in advocacy, case management and as a therapist.
I am a Classical educator. I teach the fundamentals of the subject and then move forward into an energetic dialogue with my students! I know my students have come to the rhetorical phase of learning and have mastered a concept when they can teach me! I have a passion for keeping my classes engaging. I strive to foster a love for learning that lasts a life time! I hope to see your learners in class!
