"Cubism" Reinvented- Draw Minecraft -Inspired Pixellated Portraits! Art Class
In this single-session course, students will see how symmetry and geometry come into play as they use graph paper to create a Minecraft-inspired portrait of a person they know, admire, or imagine.

Class Experience
I'm a teaching artist with a BFA in illustration, MAT in Art Education, and more than 22 years of experience. I'm also mom to Minecraft lovers so I see the appeal of these characters!
Learners may need to take some time after class to finish coloring their design.
1 file available upon enrollmentLearners will need: -a piece of 4-square graph paper (if you don't have one, you can download a printout from the classroom) -a ruler -a pencil -a fineline marker -drawing media to color the portrait, for example: crayons; markers; colored pencils; oil pastels (it might be good to have at least one type of drawing media with which they can blend colors, because, for example, markers tend to come in a more limited palette)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
-All learners must be individually registered. Learners may share a camera, but each participating student must register for class. -Per Outschool policy, cameras must be functioning for me to verify learners at the beginning of class. Students without a functioning webcam will not be allowed to participate. -I follow Outschool's limited refund policy. If you miss class, I can provide the class recording. I will not be able to accommodate transfer requests made within 24 hours of class, or after class.
