Class Experience
Students will be learning why fingerprinting is important, how to identify people from their fingerprints, jobs that will utilize fingerprinting, and how to take their own fingerprints. We will also look at how fingerprinting helps in criminal investigations. I will teach by giving background, new info, and modeling then letting them try it for themselves. This class is taught in English.
I have taught 7th Science for 4 years. In my curriculum, we study human body systems and genetics. While studying that I teach my students about fingerprints and the process of fingerprinting many times over the years.
A standard #2 pencil White paper clear tape
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In this class, I will use the site Nearpod.com to share a presentation about fingerprinting. In this class, I will be using Gimkit to assess student knowledge at the end of the session. In this class, I will use screen share to show students my screen so I can model the correct ways to fingerprint and identify their patterns.
