Class experience
US Grade 3 - 6
This class is for learners who want to share their love of gems, crystals, minerals and rocks. Students often want to spend a good part of class time in my other rocks and crystals classes sharing what they have. This class will provide a platform for structured sharing with some useful information about the stones, where possible. Tips for discovering more about the rocks will be shared. This is a good class for students who have already attended one of more of the crystal and gems classes....
1. To have the opportunity to share with others crystals, minerals, and rocks that they love and enjoy collecting 2. To practice social skills by sharing in a constructive and orderly manner 3. To become more knowledgeable about how to obtain information on the rocks they are collecting. 4. To further an interest in rock collecting.
I have been collecting and researching crystals and gemstones for many years. I have an extensive collection of crystals and a deep fascination with learning how crystals have been used throughout history. My son hunts and polishes stones in his basement workshop, so I am very familiar with the process of finding and bringing stones to their polished beauty. I love crystals and gemstones, both for their beauty and their versatility. I am a teacher and have included units on rocks and gems in elementary and middle school earth science lessons.
Each learner should bring up to 8 crystals, gems, rocks or minerals to class to share. They can also share information they have about the stones.
