The four-lesson hands-on class introduces learners to: the parts of the Microsoft Word screen, ribbon, commands, icons, character formatting, copy and paste, borders and shading, alignment, print orientation, selecting text and others. This class includes worksheets for learners to complete either in class or as homework. This class may meet once a week for 4 weeks or twice a week for two weeks. Student will become familiar with Microsoft Word program to enable them to implement these skills to perform required tasks.
I have 20 years of experience teaching computer applications including all of the Microsoft Office Suite at the middle and high school level and 15 years at the college level. I have a Master of Science degree in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems. I look forward to working with your student.
Worksheets will be assigned after each class to allow learner to continue practicing their skills. The worksheets should take less than 2 hours to complete.
Computer with video, sound and document saving capability, newer version of Microsoft Word (2019 or Office 365), access to separate device (phone or tablet) so the student is able to work along with the instructor step-by-step through instruction.
Completed assignment and projects.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
