We will then move on to early literacy and early math activities to assist in the transition to kindergarten. I believe in joyful, small and interactive classes which incorporate music, movement, and hands-on learning experiences. Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome! I am Dr. Sara Rutledge. I just completed my 29th year as an educator. I am certified in elementary education (K-6) and hold a doctoral degree in education in curriculum and instruction. I am currently a Professor of Education and Education Department Chairperson at a local college where I educate pre-service teachers and supervise their field experiences and student teaching in public and private schools. I also serve as an educational consultant and private tutor. I love working with college students AND young children and that is why I am here. My teaching philosophy involves engaging young children in active learning strategies such as using hands-on manipulatives, learning through play, visual aids, project-based learning, student-centered learning, kinesthetic activities to build fine and gross motor skills, and creative experiences in art, music, dance, and dramatic play. Welcome to my classes!
