What's included
3 live meetings
2 hrs 45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this three week class students will learn crochet basics like slip knot, slip stitch, chain and single crochet in making their own snowman. I teach via "tell, show, do and feedback" which is similar to the gradual release model used in schools. I will teach students the before mentioned techniques to crochet their own snowman for winter. We will add embellishments like eyes, nose, scarf and hat to our snowman figures. While crocheting, students will be able to converse with their peers about their hobbies and other crochet crafts. Week one: Introductions, yarn and other materials, learn about slip knots, chains and single crochet. Week two: Continue our crochet process and finish the snowman figure. Week three: Make our scarfs/hats and put on eyes of our snowmen. *No previous crochet experience is needed. Though it helps if students know how to slip knot.*

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Florida Gulf Coast University
Hello & Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in my classes and in me. I have my Bachelor's of Art: Fine Art from Florida Gulf Coast University, go Eagles! After four years of teaching visual arts and three years of teaching online, I am excited for every opportunity to teach young learners and help them grow. My classroom is one that is open and friendly, accepting of everyone regardless of skill level or knowledge, promotes creativity, and inspires learners to continue to learn. I love that "aha" moment when something we are learning clicks and a students eyes light up.
I am open to creating classes to meet the needs of students. Share your excitement and ideas! I love all medium: drawing, painting, sculpting, fiber arts and digital design. I also love cooking from scratch.
I try to tie in the history of the arts as I teach so that it builds a background for what we are learning. If we are learning about Surrealism, we might digitally travel to Spain and learn about the history of Salvador Dali and tour his museum. Then we will create a dream journal and our own artistic creations based on the style of the movement. I want my classes to inspire students of all ages to create.
I have always had a passion for the arts, traveling and gaming. I have been a gamer and have enjoyed tabletop games like GURPS and D&D, as well as online platforms like World of Warcraft and Asheron's Call.
I hope to have the opportunity to meet your learner soon! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
