What's included
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Each week, after watching the demonstration, students should spend time practicing each motif. They will post their progress, and their questions in the Outschool classroom. Students will also compare and comment on each other’s work. I will give feedback and encourage each student.Class Experience
This is a flex class. There will be no live meetings. Each of the first four weeks I will upload a video demonstrating one crochet motif. Students will watch the video, learn, and practice the motif. They will then be able to post their questions and pictures of their progress. I will provide each student with feedback about their work. Students will give feedback on each others color choices and techniques. All posts will be done in our Outschool classroom. In the final class I will demonstrate one joining method, and one border, and how to block their motifs. All of these motifs are advanced beginner levels. Students should have a basic understanding of crochet that includes slip knot, chain stitch, single and double crochet. Week 1: I will discuss how yarn choices affect your work. I will then demonstrate The Arcade Motif By mixing lattice crochet with traditional granny square. For homework students will post videos or photos of their work along with questions and comments. Week 2: I will demonstrate the second motif, Crocus Patch, by using half double and half double crochet clusters. For homework students will post videos and/or photos of their work along with any questions or comments they may have. Week 3: I will demonstrate the third motif, by combining stitches of varying heights to make Ripples. For homework students will post videos and/or photos of their work along with any questions or comments they may have. Week 4: I will demonstrate the fourth motif, Delta, which is a center flower motif with raised petals. For homework students will post videos and/or photos of their work along with any questions or comments they may have. Week 5: I will demonstrate how to block motifs and then combine them using a whipstitch.
