In this one-time class, students will be introduced to the art of crochet.
Class experience
In this one-time class, students will learn the basics of crochet. We will focus on how to hold the yarn and hook while learning to make a slip knot and chain. We will discuss different kinds of hooks and yarns that can be used and any tips that are helpful when starting to learn crochet. Once the skill for the lesson is introduced, the students and teacher can use the time to share items that they have made (or want to make), why they want to learn to crochet, and how confident they feel...
This class is taught in English.
Either a 5MM or 6MM crochet hook. Sometimes, it is beneficial for young students to use a larger hook size due to the fine motor skills needed to crochet. Yarn Scissors.
Students may need scissors for this class. **Parents it may be helpful to make sure that you are close-by during this class. There are a lot of fine motor skills needed to crochet and sometimes it helps to have another set of eyes to ensure the proper movements.**
