In this one time class, students will learn to make a slip knot and chain stitches. These are the foundation of most crochet projects and are essential to becoming proficient crocheters. This class is suitable for students who are absolute beginners and have no experience crocheting. In this class I will show students how to do a slip knot, demonstrating as many times as necessary until students are confident with this step. Students will learn how to hold the hook and yarn, make a slip knot, and make chain stitches. They will also learn how to make single crochet stitches if time permits.
Materials needed for this class are: * A crochet hook size 6 mm to 7 mm * A skein of worsted weight yarn (number 4) in a lighter color * Scissors
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We will be working with scissors, so parental guidance may or may not be necessary. It is left up to the parent's discretion.
