Description

Class Experience

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Create a slip knot and chain stitch
2) Create a single crochet stitch
3) Create a half-double crochet stitch
4) Create a double crochet stitch
5) Create a triple crochet stitch
6) Turn their work to create more rows
7) Tie off their work to create a finished piece
There is no formal homework that is assigned in this class. However, I will be giving students various ways to practice their new crochet skills throughout the week. Students may practice as little or as much as they'd like, but remember---the more they practice, the better they'll get!
In order to be successful in this class, students should bring the following materials to class each week: 1) Yarn - I recommend the Red Heart brand for beginners since it is very easy to work with 2) Hooks - There are many hook sizes available, but don't be overwhelmed! I would recommend starting with a size H-8 (5mm). 3) Scissors 4) Tapestry needle - preferably metal
Each week, students will submit one picture (or a video if they'd like) per stitch learned in class. For example, in week one, students will submit one picture or video showing their crocheted chain. (I will provide direct instruction on how to complete this assignment in class!) Students can also use this assignment as an opportunity to ask questions or share how they struggled to create the stitch.

I will be providing individual written and/or video feedback to each student sharing tips, tricks, help, or answers to questions as needed.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
