Class Experience
In this crochet flex course, students will learn art vocabulary around crochet. I teach through: tell, show, do, feedback (a method I learned in my time with Starbucks, a long time ago) I find that students learn in a variety of ways (hearing, seeing and doing). This practice allows every student to learn in their own unique way. I will teach the steps to creating 2 fun amigurumi, a blanket, and a bath pouf (loofah) . Students will be provided written instructions for all patterns used in the lessons. Students will post their images to be presented in our digital Gallery walk to receive feedback from their peers and myself. Feedback is essential to artists ( and learners!), I love doing gallery walks because students can share their artwork and get praise and critiques from their peers (what they did well, what they can improve on etc). Students will be producing 4 individual pieces of work: Week 1: Crochet blanket Week 2: Bath Poof/loofah Week 3: Bumble Bee amigurumi (chain, magic circle, single crochet, increase/decrease) Week 4: Teddy bear amigurumi Students don't need a background in crochet for this flex class.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to learn some basic and intermediate crochet techniques.
