This class is intended to be a "next step" for students who already know single crochet and would like to learn more stitches. We will begin with a brief review of forming a slip knot and crocheting a chain. Then, I will model the double crochet stitch. I will model each step as many times as needed for students to feel confident with each skill. Once these skills have been demonstrated, there will usually still be time for students to crochet several rows in class and free talk. At the end of class, I will review how to tie off the end of the project and weave in the ends. Upon enrollment in this class, you will have access to the classroom and the supply list. Please be sure to purchase supplies before class. After class, I will post the tips shared in the class slides as well as a video review on our class page. All Outschool classes are also recorded, so students will be able to watch the class video for additional help after class, if needed.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to crochet using double crochet. Students can use double crochet to create many projects, including scarves and afghans (blankets). Double crochet is also used in many other crochet projects.
