Class Experience

In this class, the student will learn the basics of crochet. The student will first learn how to do a foundation row. Then we will move on to how to start each row after the foundation row. The student will be taught single crochet stitches, double crochet stitches, and the half double crochet stitch. The student will learn how to change colors if they so desire. Finally, the student will learn how to end the project they have made.
I will teach via zoom, doing a live demo. I will be explaining exactly what to do while the student is watching me crochet and then the student will also be crocheting themselves. I will also provide pictures on a powerpoint of how to do each stitch.
My class will be a relaxed, but professional environment.
The student does not need to have any prior experience. I do highly encourage them to bring their own materials to class such as a crochet hook and yarn. The crochet hook can be any size. The yarn can be that of any color and brand. It is up to the student what brand to use.
I will be providing a pattern for the learners to follow.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Haley!
I teach art classes such as crochet, knitting, sewing and cooking! I love all kinds of animals and I love learning about different animals! Teaching about animals is extremely fun to me because we get to see how amazing different species are! Finally, I love traveling! I have traveled to over 30 different countries. I have spent at least a month in each of these countries. During my time traveling I have learned about different cultures and what makes each culture unique. Learning about different cultures is so important for students and adults to be able to grow in their understanding of the world!
I have my Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minor in Intercultural Studies. I also have certifications in TESOL and TEFL, which allows me to specialize in teaching English online to ESL learners. I have been teaching online for 2 years now and I absolutely love it! I have also spent 2 years as an International Teacher/administrator at an ESL school in Africa
I believe that learning should be fun! I like to make my classes fun and relaxing, but also knowledge filled! I believe in more than just memorizing information for a test. I think if a student is going to learn something, they should be able to retain it for a long time! I like to incorporate music, jokes, movement, etc. into my classes.
