Let's make many flowers in variations on a simple style! The flowers can be linked into a decorative garland, attached to a pin, or tied onto a magnet for refrigerators or lockers. Students will be shown the steps with a clear views of the crochet flowers being made. Students should expect to have their hands on camera and their work-in-progress visible for much of the class so that I can assess and assist as needed. Questions and conversation are encouraged as much as possible. Individualized assistance is given as much as possible and I am always happy to repeat steps. This is an intermediate level class. The pattern is not difficult, but students should have some previous crochet experience. (I offer other classes for beginners!)
Learning Goals
This is an intermediate level class. Students will learn crochet abbreviations and how to read a pattern to crochet flowers. I will teach slip stitch, magic ring, half double crochet, and double crochet. Students will learn to finish off their flowers and sew them onto an application. Students taking this class should be comfortable making rows of single crochet stitches.
