Critical Thinking is a crucial, lifelong, cognitive skill that must be developed in children. This course will greatly assist students in making more informed, better, and correct decisions in academic classes and in life. Why? Because not only is this course loads of fun, but it is also beneficial to exercise the brain and allow your child to expand their thinking on a deeper level. It is a rarity that Critical Thinking is an independent course in an academic setting today; therefore, taking this course will provide loads of practice. This course will be driven by using a required workbook that must be purchased to take this course twice a week for a 45- 55 minute blocks of time. The course will unfold by having each student read a short narrative and a set of corresponding clues. Subsequent to reading the narrative, which sets the stage, students will use their writing utensils and implement a Process of Elimination strategy by removing information that does not fit or lead to solving the narrative correctly. In each session, I will attempt to have students complete 2 puzzles and assign 1 for homework; thus, allowing us to complete 80% of the workbook. `````````````````````````````````````````` COURSE AGENDA - upcoming start date: TBA `````````````````````````````````````````` WEEKS 1 - 2 focus: puzzles 1 - 18 WEES 3 - 4 focus: puzzles 19 - 36 ``````````````````````````````````````````` PLEASE NOTE: ANY REMAINING PAGES IN THE BOOK WILL ONLY BE COMPLETED IF STUDENTS FINISH THE REQUIRED TASKS EARLY DURING EACH SESSION.
