Class Experience

In this 6 week enrichment session, students will learn how to evaluate logical arguments. We will cover conditional, disjunctive, conjunctive, and negative logical arguments and proofs. The sessions will be lecture and discussion style. I use PowerPoint slides that are interactive, so I can call on students to fill in missing parts of the slides. I expect verbal participation from each student, but I am flexible and willing to meet each student's individual needs. There will be no homework. No additional resources are needed for class. I require that students have taken my 101 class first, unless they have learned the basics of logic in another form.

Week 1: Validity, Proofs, and Basic Rules
Week 2: Rules of Logical Equivalence
Week 3: Proof Practice Using Rules and Equivalence
Week 4: Truth Tables
Week 5: Conditional Proofs Using Assumptions
Week 6: Indirect Proof Using Contradictions
