This class is designed to increase the student's joy of reading and writing by developing critical reading and writing skills. The student and teacher will pick a book together. Student's joy in reading will increase. Student's confidence in his/her own ability to create reasonable and supportable opinions will increase. Student's understanding of the writing process will increase. Student's confidence in his/her ability to write clearly will increase.
I have a master’s degree in English and creative writing. I have taught English for seven years. Much of what I’ve learned about teaching has come from homeschooling my eight children. Learning takes place when the heart is engaged. This class is open ended and aimed to fit the individual student. Books and writing topics will be chosen according to the student’s interest and suggestion.
Homework Offered
Student will be expected to read assigned chapters outside of class. Student will be expected to complete writing as assigned outside of class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
