What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. If you don't finish your collage during the class time, you may complete your custom digital Halloween Paper Doll Collage after class and submit it to be a part of Mrs. Pratte's Virtual Halloween Paper Doll Collage Art Show, only to be viewed by students who have taken this class.Class Experience
This class is not cut and paste with scissors and glue, it is a "digital" collage. It is technical and requires the student to be able to read words like, "Arrange", "Align", "Horizontally", and "Transparency". I will teach what the Google Slides tools mean and how to use them. Required: Basic knowledge of Google Slides tools. Playing with Google Slides tools before class is helpful. Preferred: a computer and computer mouse Students will be taught how to make a digital paper doll collage using Halloween pieces on a digital play mat in Google Slides. Then they will get to make their own paper doll collage by choosing 10 pieces from hundreds of custom pieces that can be duplicated or manipulated including: spooky backgrounds and textures; creepy doll, human, statue, and animal heads; ghost-like clothed bodies; vintage Halloween plastic masks; furniture & decorations; clothing and accessories; a variety of wings and Halloween animals. Take the class again and again to receive a new set of pieces of your choice each time. After class students will receive a high quality digital copy of their collage, be entered into my Virtual Halloween Paper Dolls Collage Art Show, and given access to view the Art Show.

Parental Guidance
This class is meant to be spooky and creepy but also funny and silly. I understand there are degrees of what different people consider appropriate regarding Halloween. If your child is fearful of Halloween or you feel Halloween is inappropriate then this class might not be for you. Halloween masks, creepy human and doll heads, and Halloween themed pieces are available for use. No knife, gun, rope, or violent pieces are included. Only a few cartoon-like masks show any blood and those that do show very little of it, otherwise the rest of the pieces are free of blood. Any horror pieces that are available are extremely mild and just funny or silly, but to give you comfort, they can be avoided because there are hundreds of other pieces from which to choose. Happy Halloween 2020!

Aloha! I'm happy you found me.
I have a college degree in Elementary Education with an Art minor. I earned U.S.A. teaching certificates in Hawaii, Arizona, and Utah. I've taught 7th grade English Literature, 5th grade elementary school, after school programs, swimming lessons, summer school, jewelry making, and digital art. I've privately tutored Reading, Writing, Math, and Google Slides Presentations/Slideshows.
I took a break from full-time teaching to raise a family. Currently, I'm a Special Education para-professional and help elementary students with a variety of special needs achieve their goals in both academics and behaviors.
I have lived in Florida, Utah, Hawaii, Arizona, Brazil, and Jerusalem, and explored Egypt, Israel, Canada, Mexico, and many of the United States of America. Other than English I speak a bit of Portuguese, Hawaiian Pidgin English, Pig Latin, and American Sign Language.
I love mind games, word games, illusions, weird facts, current events, children's literature, Adobe Photoshop, old photos, macro photography, art of all kinds, Hawaii, the ocean, sea life, ukulele and guitar music, quilt designs, graphics, flowers, birds, swimming, watercolor, Zentangles, calligraphy, and fonts. For fun I like to freeze dry food, restore old photos digitally in Adobe Photoshop, and create digital art.
I love to learn and to teach what I've learned.
Come have fun with me and learn elementary math, freeze drying food, or Google Slides' creative tools.
